Frequently Asked Questions
What are the best foods to eat that will help lower cholesterol? Also, what should you not eat (or what are the worst foods to eat) when you have high cholesterol?
A great place to start is www.choosemyplate.gov. It is a free website by the USDA and is based on the dietary guidelines for Americans. The plate has replaced the food guide pyramid. Click “supertracker” on the top green row then click on daily food plan. It will ask you to enter your age, height, weight, gender, and activity level. Then it will generate a healthy eating plan designed just for you. Spend some time browsing the rest of the website. There is a lot of great helpful info and tips.
Since everyone’s health history and nutritional needs are so different, please make sure that you talk with your doctor to get advice about the diet and exercise plan that’s right for you.
